This year the Ján Koniarek Gallery presents two Slovak artists within the project EXIN 2010:
Ilona Németh (1963) and Stano Masár (1971).
Stano Masár has been for a long time interested in creation of backward or paradoxical situations where common items (tables, stairs, doors, shopping carts etc.) give rise to unique ob-jects and whole series of interpretation of art works by both classics and contemporary authors. The author´s first entry was made as a direct comment on the M.A. Bazovský´s presentation in the main premises of the GJK; the introductory wall presents the series of the Slovak Visual of Art of 20th Cen-tury (2005), i.e. 58 safety slates onto which the works of significant Slovak authors are transferred into the new visual communication, and interference of plates into the exhibition and into the firefighting and safety „recesses“ of the exhibition premises (Running, 1999; 6 plates with titles: MONEY, LOVE, SEX, FREEDOM etc.) The second entry is a metaphoric „Waiting for Godot“ – in an empty Koniarek´s exposition there are just two antiqued benches, white walls and short epigraph on one of them: WAITING FOR ARTIST´S IDEA (2010).
Stano Masár, born in 1971 in Bratislava, graduated from the Bratislava Comenius University (1996). 2002 to 2006 – Oskar Čepan prize finalist. Recent solo exhibitions: 2010 – Entry (with T. Vaněk) Space Bratislava; 2009 – Wait, please (with. L. Čárny), F Center, Bratislava, Entry-No-Entry, Art Gallery, Nové Zámky. He lives and creates in Bratislava.
