Džadoň Tomáš

*1981 Poprad

Artist Tomáš Džadoň graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, studied in Bratislava and Polish Koszalin. He regularly exhibits at home and abroad. He is the finalist of the Jindřich Chalupecký Prize, the Oskár Čepan Prize, laureate of the Cyprián Majerník Prize and the winner of the Prize Essl. He was on stays at chateau in Trebišice, Marseille, Graz and Prague. With Uruguay artist Silvina Arismendi he founded and operated a nomadic gallery Parásito which in the years 2007 and 2010 organised stays and exhibitions of Latino artists in Prague. At that time he is studying on doctoral program at the Bratislava Academy of Fine Arts and Design under the lead of prof. Dezidér Tóth in Neatelier. He lives and works in Prague. In his work he started with graphics, but the strongest expression he found in special and often monumental installations in which he devoted to issue of our relation to tradition, its wresting by optics of nostalgia and criticizes naive belief in authenticity.
