Ilavský Svetozár

*11 November 1958 Bratislava

Studied monumental painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (1979 – 1985). He is concerned on several media – painting, graphic, sculpture, creation in architecture, scenography and intermedia projects, mainly in connection with electric-acoustic music. He is a significant personality of Slovak fine art of the middle generation, member of Slovak union of Visual Arts. In 1985 he won the Martin Benka prize. His works were chosen for representative shows of our and foreign current fine art, pictures and sculptures are represented in major state collections in Slovakia (Slovak National Gallery, Bratislava City Gallery and others), in public collections abroad (Museum of Art Tuscon - USA, Stadtgalerie Augsburg – Germany and others) and in private collections. He is the author of Július Satinský sculpture named „Július Satinský hears the sounds of Dunaj street“.
