Klimo Alojz

*3 August 1922 Piešťany – †12 October 2000 Bratislava

Studied painting and drawing at the Slovak Technical Academy in Bratislava (1941 – 1945). Later he studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague (1945 – 1948). He worked in the field of painting, drawing, graphic, book illustration, monumental – decorative creation; he made space objects and creation of toys. He becomes a significant personality in the field of abstract, geometric – constructive development line. Illustrations of books for children and youth are a part of his creation. He won several home and international prizes. He participated on many collective home and international expositions. He represented Czechoslovakia on EXPO 70 in Osaka in 1970. In 1995 a book monograph of his creation was published. Works of Alojz Klimo are represented in collections of 15 galleries in Slovakia and Czech Republic, in the L. Kassák Museum in Budapest, in private collections in Slovakia, Czech Republic, Germany a Austria.
