Hložník Vincent

*1919 Svederník – † 1997 Bratislava

Slovak artist, graphic designer, illustrator, sculptor and pedagogue, representative of the sovereign expressionism. He belongs to the second wave of modernism. His early work was strongly influenced by Pablo Picasso and in graphics also by expressionism. Clearly formulated figuration started after stage of surrealism in his creation. Vincent Hložník illustrated more than 100 works of world and national literature; his known window-pane is in the village Zborov nad Bystricou. In his creation he reacted on the events of World War II. His work also appears on postage stamps. 


The exhibition Sculptor Ján Koniarek was closed.
