On 7 December at 5.30 pm a photographic exhibition called Fakes will open in Ján Koniarek Gallery in Trnava (clUb 3). It will contain presentations of the works of students of a Huszár- Pavlovic Photographic Atelier - a Photographic Atelier of the FMK UCM in Trnava under the leadership of Mr Tibor Huszár and Roman Pavlovič. The exhibition is organized by the Trnava Self-Governing Region, Ján Koniarek Gallery in Trnava, the University of SS Cyril and Methodius in Trnava and the Faculty of Mass Media Communication of UCM in Trnava.
The exhibition is based on termly works of students. Their task was to achieve artistic knowledge of the creation of the past centuries’ significant artists. The students were asked to choose a work of art and to create a photographic reproduction accordingly- a counterfeit, or they were supposed to make a funny parody on the work. “They had a free choice, there were no limitations concerning the kind of style or technique or the method to cope with the work. Therefore they used all the available tools,“ explained Mr Roman Pavlovič a co-founder of the FMK UCM Photographic Atelier the character of the assignment. Thus, an interesting mixture of images was created to be available for the public from 7 December 2011 until 30 January 2012.
It is the third event of this type held in Ján Koniarek Gallery in Trnava. Successful exhibitions HEANDSHE (2010) and THE BODY HAS FLOWN AWAY (2009) preceded this event. “22 authors will display their works. The photos are not only printed on a photographic paper and framed but also presented on the canvas”, says Katarina Acelova, a student of post-graduate studies. The students used the works of exceptional artists among which the names as Leonardo Da Vinci, René Magritte, František Kupka, Caravaggio, Gustav Klimt, Frederick Sandys and many other are featured. Their works will come to life as unique counterfeits presented by young photographers through their creativity and a new perception.
The Huszár – Pavlovič Photographic Atelier associates over 50 students of FMK UCM in Trnava. They organize creative workshops, participate in exhibitions or competitions (PhotoFrame, Early Melons, the Trnava Focus). Their effort can be seen in a publication MUUZA 2011, MUUZA 2010 or Between the Raindrops- AUTISM- the World of Truth. Among many of both individual and group awards it is the award the Most Beautiful Book of the Year 2009 - Between the Raindrops- AUTISM- the World of Truth which is the most valuable. At the moment they are also working on a book of horses.
