Peter Kľúčik, academic painter, graphic artist, illustrator.
He was born on 16.3.1953 in Bratislava. Peter Kľúčik is a member of a well-known art group G bod /G-spot/. He graduated from the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Bratislava. In years 1974 – 1980 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Department of Graphics and Book Illustration under Prof. Albín Brunovský. He presented his Works in numerous exhibitions, both solo and collective, in Slovakia, Bohemia, Poland and Hungary as well as in France, Belgium, Italy, Austria, USA and Canada. Peter Kľúčik is an excellent illustrator. He illustrated a large number of books, many of them for children and youth. He was awarded numerous prizes for his illustrations. He often paints images of fabulous animals. Peter Kľúčik´s pictures are characterized by baroque sceneries, absurdity of meetings, work with metaphor, grotesque, irony or self-irony. Fantasy environment with rich flora and fauna, both real and mythical provide space for our perception with no time limitation. Of course, Peter Kľúčik is also the author of solo engravings and recently also ex-libris. In his engravings we can discover his realm of animals and plants in the background of prehistoric sceneries and geographical maps as well as author´s vedutas of Bratislava. His ex-librises, though made to order, are unique.

Vladimír Oravec, academic sculptor, ceramist
He was born on 22.11.1952 in Bratislava. There, he attended the Secondary School of Applied Arts which was at that time a hatchery of quality artists. In 1973 he was admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague to Prof. Eckert, Department of Ceramics. He graduated from the school in 1979. In 1981 he moved to Banská Štiavnica where he is till today. In his studio he engages in utility ceramics, sculpture, chamber as well as monumental sculpture made of ceramic or terracotta material. His exterior works - fountains and reliefs as well as small chamber pieces use the magic of baked clay in combination with other materials. Working with clay – terracotta material is closely linked with touch of hands. Vlado´s works act as cartoons of strange human or animal beings – creatures which are often like Aesop´s mirror of the deeply hidden traits of our character. The method of working, resembling glued swallow nests, composed of small fragments, enhances a perfect craftsmanship of the work. He participates in many symposia and is often awarded prizes for his markedly unconventional work. He exhibited in the Netherlands, England, Germany, France and Monaco.
Jakub Kľúčik, born on 8. 3.1985 Mgr. art., painter, illustrator. A son of the well-known author Peter Kľúčik was born in Bratislava. He comes under the youngest generation of profiled authors, graduated from the School of Applied Arts of J.Vydra in Bratislava and then the Department of Graphics, Book Creation, Illustration and Other Media of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava with Prof. Dušan Kállay. First walking in the shade or better to say in the footsteps of his father, Jakub soon separated from him and walked his own way. He mostly paints in oil; his works are filled with symbolism and symbolic of history and the present. Spatial absurdities alternate figurines and figures from another world. His paintings are meaningful and enchanting. They open stories and plots emerging from darkness to light. As we look at Hieronymus Bosch´s purgatory with a detachment – we look at Jakub Kľúčik´s paintings with the same detachment. After all, what can happen to us? - It´s just a picture. In addition to his paintings, Jakub Kľúčik is known from the times of his university studies for his collection of graphics entitled ABECEDA / ALPHABET/ where he assigns properties to each letter of alphabet based on the nature or phonetics of each letter. He had a joint exhibition with his father at the Gallery of Ernest Zmeták in Nové Zámky in 2013.

Exhibition: OBLUDÁRIUM* /IMAGINARY BEINGS/ is an example of fanciful symbolism of three independent authors and three independent positions while they are mutually compatible despite their different accomplishment.

The human fantasy is infinite and boundless. The exhibition OBLUDÁRIUM /IMAGINARY BEINGS/ in the Synagogue – Center of Contemporary Art proves it. If any author finds himself in the net of fantasy, it is hard for him to give up this appealing topic. Is the source of fantasy truly inexhaustible? - This is one of the questions that the exhibition raises. Peter Kľúčik brings engravings and ex-librises, Vladimír Oravec ceramic sculptures and ceramic reliefs and Jakub Kľúčik oil paintings and engravings.

*or BESTIARIUM /BEASTS/ is a book containing descriptions of real and mythical animals. The oldest preserved mention is a Greek work entitled „Physiologus“ dating back to the 2nd century AD or Aristotle´s "Historia animalum". Obludárium collects, sorts and personifies presumptions of beings that are often a symbol of the cycle of life, morality, world-view and attitude towards otherworldly stories where each has its unique place in the ancient universe. Imaginary Beings were popular in England and France in the 12th century and the modern era Imaginary Beings is the „Fantastic Zoology“ by Borges.
