The exhibition of Japanese visual artist Tets Ohnari (1980) in Trnava’s Synagogue – Centre of Contemporary Art is conceived as a site-specific installation. Its title “Reflection” refers to Ohnari’s work more broadly. In his sculptures, Ohnari always sensitively reacts to the specific stimuli of place and its cultural, historic and spatial particularities. In this sense, the word “Reflection” also expresses the essence of his planned installation in Trnava. The exhibition space of the Jan Koniarek Gallery in Trnava, Synagogue – Centre of Contemporary Art, came to the fore of the Slovak cultural map mostly thanks to the exhibition projects which reflected the contexts of this inspirational space and used its sacral past in their programmes.
Exhibition is endorsed by the Japan Embassy in Slovak Republic.
