The permanent exhibition Women Known – Unknown, Visible – Invisible presents a diverse array of women’s portraits that speak to us from both the past and the present. Each face is unique — shaped not only by physical features but also by lived experiences, emotions, and social context. The expression of a person is not static; it continuously changes under the influence of age, facial expressions, and inner feelings.
The selection of portraits includes not only well-known female personalities but also anonymous faces whose stories remain shrouded in mystery. Despite differences in historical, cultural, or social status, all these women carry reflections of their own identity in their faces. While individuality expresses their uniqueness, identity situates them within a broader social context.
This exhibition invites contemplation on how the female face becomes a bearer of stories, emotions, and the shifting definitions of femininity throughout history.
