Workshop on Building Birdhouses
and a Guided Tour of the Exhibition Home Made Homes by Tamás Kaszás

April 17, 2026 at 17:00, Synagogue-CSU

We invite you to a guided tour of the exhibition Home Made Homes by Tamás Kaszás with curator Lýdia Pribišová, along with a creative workshop where you will build your own birdhouse — a simple yet important shelter for small songbirds.

Today, both in the countryside and in cities, birds often lack natural cavities in old trees. Birdhouses can replace these spaces, providing safe places for nesting and raising their young. During the session, we will introduce the basic principles a good birdhouse should meet to be truly safe and functional for birds. You will then create your own birdhouse, which you can take home and place in your garden, a park, or another suitable location nearby. The workshop is open to everyone who wants to make something with their own hands while also taking a small step to help nature around us.

The workshop will be led by ornithologists from SOS/BirdLife Slovensko, who will be happy to offer guidance and explain why such nesting sites are so important for birds in today’s environment.
